I will listen closely to what you have to say, suggest ideas and together we will create a ceremony that has meaning for you as the couple and share with those attending your love, your hopes and dedication to your marriage. On your wedding day, I will help calm your nerves and if we have to go to “plan b” on the ceremony – I’m okay with that.

I live by the Golden rule – Treat others as you would like to be treated. Respect, honesty, integrity, family, friends, faithfulness and Laughter is important in my life. Being empathetic and understanding makes us all a better human being. I’m not perfect but I strive to be a better human being.

I believe Marriage is between two people who love in each other- period. Every human being on this Earth is unique and it is this uniqueness that makes this world go round. I am licensed to do premarital counseling and will travel, or skype to help the two of you understand who you are and who you were created to be. I have a Bachelors degree in Christian Counseling and am a Licensed Pastoral Counselor.

As an ordained interfaith minister and spiritual counselor, I have been officiating weddings for over 20 years. I collaborate with each couple to create a personalized ceremony, which truly expresses your shared spirituality, and celebrates your relationship with those you love.

Whether you choose to hold your wedding at one of the resorts along the lake or within a natural setting that is special to you, living in Grand Marais I’m close at hand. I have officiated all types of ceremonies, from traditional to hand-fasting, and each wedding is as unique as each relationship.

I am very non-rigid in my theology and practice as a minister and wedding officiant. I honor all paths, whether traditional, contemporary, spiritual or secular (or any combination thereof).

When a couple hires me to be their officiant, my focus is to help them design a ceremony of their own unique creation – using words of their choosing, incorporating any rituals, readings, and/or special music desired. My goal is that each bride and groom experiences the wedding of their dreams. I have assisted many couples in achieving and enjoying their ideal wedding ceremony, and many have been good enough to recommend me to others.

I encourage an initial meeting, both to make sure the couple considers me a good fit for them, and to begin to get their thoughts and ideas about the ceremony. However, in some cases I have officiated weddings in which it was the case that I did not meet the couple until the rehearsal or their wedding day. And yet all goes well because whether or not we are able to meet in person beforehand, much of the communication and crafting of the service is done via email and phone conversations. I am happy to offer input and advice, but the final say always belongs to the couple.
